[Sugarmegs] Off-topic but funny story

Привет!

Вот какие истории иногда рассказывают :-)

From: "Grant Tennille" <здесь был адрес>

Last night, I was standing outside of the Hertz rental-car building waiting
for the shuttle at the St. Louis airport. When a very tall, thin guy in a
captain's hat walked past me on his way inside.

I did a double-take, and turned and followed him inside, keeping a bit of
distance. I kind of eased up to the counter a little way down from the guy
and looked over. It was Chuck Berry! He turned and stared at me, staring at
him. I said, "Hello, Mr. Berry, how are you tonight?" He said, "I'm fine
thanks," and shot me the thumbs-up.

Having seen "Hail, Hail Rock and Roll" and read many stories about how
irritated he gets with people bothering him, I turned and walked back
outside the building.

A few minutes later, he came out with his keys in his hand (They had pulled
a white Lincoln town car right up to the front for him.) He looked over at
me and said, "Are you driving?"

Now this is a moment I will regret for the rest of my life. I completely
locked up. Had I been thinking at all, I would have said, "Yes sir, I am,"
grabbed the keys and hauled ass with Chuck Berry in the back of a Lincoln.

Instead, I said, "No sir, I'm not, and I hate to ask but can I have your
autograph?" He smiled and signed, and a couple of minutes later whoever was
supposed to drive showed up and he left.

I don't normally get all charged up about a brush with greatness, but
meeting Chuck Berry is, IMHO, like meeting Einstein, Edison, Buddha,
Mohammed or any of the top tier of influential people in human history.
